Cover Crops
Our own developed cover crop mix is planted down every other row of the vineyard providing wildlife cover for animals, preventing rainwater run off to withhold nutrients in the ground as well as provide carbon capture. Grass is planted on the alternative rows to provide a habitat and to avoid impaction we only drive on the grass rows with the tractor and have double row attachments enabling us to sustain these practices. No insecticides are used in the vineyard, preserving all animals and wildlife we have for years to come.

Our cover crop mixes are developed personally by us for the bees, butterflies, bugs and wildlife.
We are carbon neutral

Farm
The three vineyard fields are surrounded by hedging which provide a wind break but more importantly provide habitats and soil structure. All the hedge gaps have been filled in with native British hedging plants. During the hedges growth, they’re maintained to ensure the thickest, mature hedges develop. Next to the hedges around our whole farm we leave 3m wide natural grass strips for the wildlife to nest in.
All pruning’s that we produce annually in the vineyard from cutting back the old wood and allowing the vines to be dormant through the winter months are collected and chipped to a smaller size. These can then be utilised for spreading on flower gardens round the farm and our home, to using on pathways, BBQ and pizza oven fuels and many more renewable ideas, while removing all potential disease from the vineyard.
Our wine bottle labels are made from sustainable cotton.
